Twist Theatre Development Projects is a Section 21 company and registered Not for Profit Organisation (NPO). We were formally established in 2009. Funding for the project in 2012 comes from the National Arts council of South African and the KZN Department of Arts and Culture.

Previous funders include the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Arts and Culture Trust (ACT).
